The Better Balance Program focuses on Fall Prevention by addressing sensory, vestibular, strength, and flexibility deficits of those patients who have experienced a fall or are at risk for falling. This program helps in identifying the causes and therefore potential solutions for these patients.

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (or IASTM) is a soft tissue treatment approach using tool that help the clinician more readily identify and treat problem areas.

Dry needling offers physical therapists another technique to reduce pain and improve movement. With this technique, a dry needle (no medicine) is inserted into the trigger point, muscle, or painful region. We have found it to be an extremely effective approach in reducing pain and muscle spasm. We have found it helpful in dealing with TMJ, headaches, tendonitis, muscle strains, tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis, neck pain, back pain, and hip bursitis – just to name a few. It is different than acupuncture in that its theories are based on modern Western medicine principles.

Our providers can evaluate your feet and walking / running mechanics to determine the appropriate foot orthotic inserts to best suit your needs. We boast a wide selection of premium, medical-grade off-the-shelf orthotics that are individualized and can have the ability to customize if it is required.

We offer PT, OT, and Speech Therapy for workers’ compensation claims. In addition to clinical care, we also perform Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs) using the ErgoScience Physical Work Performance Evaluation.

LSVT BIG is a standardized treatment protocol that has been proven effective in improving movement and mobility with those with Parkinson’s Disease. We have 3 LSVT BIG practitioners. LSVT BIG is available in the Sevierville, Seymour, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg clinics.

We now offer a free LSVT BIG class at the My People Senior Center every Wednesday at 1pm.

3 Certified Hand Therapists (CHT) on staff. The CHT is an expert in dealing with the hand and upper extremity problems. We specialize in Conservative, Post-Surgical, or Post-Injury care.  Custom orthotics and splinting available.

Vestibular rehabilitation can be effective in improving symptoms related to inner ear/balance disorders like vertigo, dizziness, visual disturbance, and/or imbalance. We have 2 therapists on staff certified in vestibular rehabilitation competency. Village Drive location has Eye Movement Recording capability which aids the physical therapists in identifying the and treating the vertigo.

We have Impact Trained Physical Therapists who specialize in concussion treatment. We address dizziness, neck pain, and headache. We also help to restore balance, strength, endurance, and flexibility for return to play or work.

Aquatic Therapy is available at the Village Drive location which has a heated therapy pool. Exercises that are performed in water are less stressful and painful on weight-bearing joints which allows for more physical activityl
